Redd's Branch Baptist
Church was established in 1886 from a
Methodist Sunday School which began in the Redd's Branch Academy.
In 1887 property was donated across the road from the Academy where the church
is now located. Due to church growth and a need for Sunday School
classrooms, four rooms were added to the church in 1952.
In 1956 a church parsonage was built across the street from the church. A
mission was begun in Couchton sponsored by Redd's Branch Baptist
Church in 1957.
A ground breaking ceremony was held July 19, 1958 to build a new
sanctuary. The new church building was dedicated on December 7, 1958 and
a cornerstone was laid following the service. The educational building
was voted on in 1967 and completed in 1968. The church celebrated its one
hundred year anniversary in 1986.
